Sydney, NSW, Australia – Effective 1st June 2020, the newly-created position of General Manager was assumed by Marc White. The position will oversee the overall running and growth of the Tiger Containers business, facilitating the operational integration with the parent company, Tyne Containers, leveraging their national footprint.
Marc’s background and vast experience include working for Royal Wolf for 15 years as Regional General Manager, 5 years owning an IT company in Melbourne, Director/COO at Beonic Technologies, General Manager for VISY Boxes & More for 3 years and Tradecorp National Commercial Manager for 18 months.
When asked why he wanted to work at Tiger Containers and what excited him about the position, Marc replied:
“I have known Mick and Aaron Powell for 24 years and I’ve always been drawn to working with people who are aligned with the same values as myself. They conduct business with integrity and cultivate a good culture. Mick Powell is a legend in the industry and was a mentor of mine when I first started at Royal Wolf back in 1995. That was the year we started that business, so we have a long history and have always had a good, positive and respectful relationship. Tiger Containers as a business has great foundations in regard to ownership, staff, customer relationships and opportunity, so it excites me to now come on board at this stage of the company’s development. We want to create a business that people want to do business with and where people want to work.”
Marc envisions a huge future for Tiger Containers and the shipping container industry in general. It’s the goal of Tiger to continue to develop strong relationships with their customers and supply chain, and see Tiger achieve its full potential as a standalone business venture to the already successful Tyne Containers business.
The future of the industry is extremely bright and very buoyant. The shipping container business has always been a very niche business sector but it is extremely dynamic and agile. Marc is surprised to note that the requirement for containers has not diminished in the 25 years he has been working in it. In fact, it’s actually getting stronger with more innovative with containerized solutions being in greater demand.
When queried about Tiger’s philosophies and the industry in general, Marc says:
“Tiger Containers is a family-owned Australian business, managed by people who understand the requirements and expectations of the industry. We’re always looking for innovative products to present to the market and are always looking to develop mutually beneficial relationships with both our customers and suppliers. We are in this industry for the long haul and we refuse to cut corners or take short cuts. We play a long game and believe in doing business with integrity and always want the best outcome for all stakeholders.”
About Tiger Containers:
